Size: CASTROL AC SPIDER BEARING GREASE 180 KG

Castrol AC Spider Bearing Grease has been specifically designed for use in Allis Chalmers [Allis Minerals] gyratory crusher spider bearings. It meets or exceeds all of the Allis Chalmers "Standard Grease" (Allis Chalmers Technical Bulletin T 223.399E 1994) requirements for temperatures between -15°C to 100°C. It is a semi-fluid lithium soap based grease, compounded with molybdenum disulphide, incorporating anti-wear and extreme pressure additives, as well as additives to prevent rust and oxidation for enhanced load carrying characteristics and long life.

Application

To effectively lubricate the spider bearing, which has both circulatory and straight line motion at slow speed, with moderately high load pressures, a thin grease of high film strength is required. It must exhibit good pumpability combined with higher than usual oil viscosity for good film strength to allow it to lubricate the bearing properly. It must also be of a consistency to prevent severe grease leakage past the bottom seal.

AC Spider Bearing Grease is a semi-fluid grease that has been developed to meet these special requirements. It exhibits good mechanical stability, pumpability and water resistance, coupled with excellent load carrying ability from its selected lubricating oil viscosity, extreme pressure additive and the incorporation of molybdenum disulphide.

Note: If an unusual amount of grease accumulates on the shaft below the spider it is an indication of a likely damaged oil seal. A greater quantity of grease will be required until the oil seal can be repaired. The oil seal should be repaired as soon as possible.

This grease is not suitable for crushers fitted with steel ball and socket bearings for which a grease meeting the requirements of SA 3067 135-AA is necessary.
