Castrol Brake Fluid DOT 3
Castrol Brake Fluid DOT 3 is a high boiling synthetic brake fluid which exceeds the requirements of the SAE J1703, FMVSS 116 DOT 3, ISO 4925 and JIS K2233 specifications – standards Castrol regards as a minimum, used as the basis for developing this product's superior performance and greater safety margin. It is formulated from mixed polyalkylene glycol ethers together with lubricity additives and corrosion inhibitors, providing a high level of protection against wear and corrosion that prolongs the service life of brake system components. Castrol Brake Fluid DOT 3 is designed for use in the hydraulic brake and clutch systems of passenger cars and commercial vehicles, with the exception of those systems where a mineral oil based fluid is recommended, and is suitable for disc or drum brake systems. As with all brake fluids containing glycol ethers, care should be taken to avoid spilling this product on paintwork as it may have a damaging effect; in case of spillage, rinse the affected area with water immediately and do not wipe. All conventional brake fluids deteriorate during use, so it is strongly recommended that Castrol Brake Fluid DOT 3 be changed according to the vehicle manufacturer's advice; in the absence of such advice, a 1 year change period is recommended.
